Daikin Park

Home of the Houston Astros in downtown Houston. Skip parking and traffic with a chauffeured ride to and from the ballpark. (Formerly known as Minute Maid Park.)

Chauffeured rides to Daikin Park Daikin Park, known for years as Minute Maid Park, is the home of the Houston Astros on the east edge of downtown Houston. The ballpark has a retractable roof, sits next to the historic Union Station building, and is a short walk from the George R. Brown Convention Center, Discovery Green and the growing restaurant scene in EaDo. With 81 regular-season home games plus concerts and special events, it is one of the busiest destinations downtown, and parking close to the ballpark fills quickly and can be expensive. How we handle drop-off and pickup Downtown streets around the ballpark carry a lot of traffic before first pitch and right after the final out, and several streets nearby are one-way. We plan the drop-off so you arrive with time to find your seats, then agree on a pickup point a few blocks from the crowd, where your chauffeur can stop safely. After the game, send a text or call and we meet you there. If you want to get dinner downtown or in EaDo after the game, tell us and we can switch to hourly service so the car waits for you. Getting to Daikin Park from the airports and north Houston From William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), the ride downtown usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. From George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), plan on about 30 to 45 minutes, longer during rush hour on I-45 or the Hardy Toll Road. From our home area in north Houston, including Tomball, Spring, Cypress and The Woodlands, the trip often takes 35 minutes to an hour. Weekday evening games start close to rush hour, so we set the pickup time with that in mind. For fans flying in, we track the flight so the chauffeur is there when you land. Rides we often run to Daikin Park Astros home games for families, friends and season ticket holders who want to skip downtown parking. Playoff games, when traffic and demand around the ballpark are at their peak. Corporate outings for teams and clients in group seating or suites, with corporate invoicing available. Visiting fans heading from IAH or Hobby to a downtown hotel and then to the game. Concerts and events held at the ballpark outside baseball season. Tips for game days downtown Weeknight games overlap with downtown rush hour, so leave earlier than you would on a weekend. Check the ballpark's current bag and entry policies before you go. Many fans combine a game with dinner in EaDo or around Discovery Green; if that is your plan, book the car by the hour rather than a one-way drop-off. For big games, the walk from your seats to the street takes longer than usual, so give yourself a few extra minutes before you text your chauffeur. Add your group size and any mobility needs in the Special Notes field so we can choose the right vehicle and drop-off spot. Choosing the right vehicle for a ballgame For two or three fans, a sedan is usually enough. Families with young children often prefer an SUV, with room for car seats, bags and souvenirs. Company outings and larger groups can ride together in a van, which keeps everyone on the same schedule and avoids splitting the group across several rides. If part of your group is coming from a different part of Houston, we can plan a multi-stop pickup on the way to the ballpark and drop each guest off at home afterward.
