Saturday, 6 p.m. Your bib is in a bag. The Health & Fitness Expo at the George R. Brown Convention Center closed at 5 p.m., and the marathon is Sunday, January 17, 2027, with the open field starting at 6:55 a.m. at Congress and Fannin, according to the organizers' schedule. You are in your hotel room laying out shoes, and you open our booking page to write down three things: the hotel entrance you will leave from, the hour you want to be dropped off, and a cross street near the start. Supporters flying in for the weekend book their airport transfer on its own, with the flight number, since it is a different reservation from your race-morning ride. A runner staying at Hilton Americas-Houston, which connects to the convention center by skywalk, may need no morning ride at all and can book just the post-race pickup. Sunday, 4:30 a.m. The lobby is quiet. From the race-day page you know that the streets forming the start line close at 5:30 a.m., that police begin closing other downtown streets at that hour, and that the course closures run from 6:00 a.m. The convention center opens to participants at 5:00 a.m. The drop-off you wrote down now matters more than the route. You ask to be let out on the open side of the closures, with one bag in your hand, and you walk the rest. Roads you would use on an ordinary Sunday may be different today, so you look at the organizers' closure maps once more before leaving, and you send your chauffeur a message if the plan changes. Sunday, mid-morning The finish is at the convention center, and your legs are finished too. Friends who came to cheer are at the RunFest area on Jones Lawn at Discovery Green, which the schedule lists as open until 3 p.m. You agree on a meeting spot outside the restricted streets, and you message your chauffeur the location once your group is together. What remains is the ride back to the hotel. Sunday, early afternoon A shower, then a late breakfast that has turned into lunch. Supporters can book their own ride, or an hourly booking can cover a block of time if the group wants several stops around Downtown Houston before anyone flies home. The Houston Marathon Committee sets the course, the closures and the start times, so check its pages for any change; we have no connection to the race, and our part is the ride.
